CFAY's annual tree lighting ceremony to start the holiday season. Come out as we celebrate with Santa and dance to your favorite holiday classics.
Schedule of Events at both location:
• 3 p.m.: Entertainment begins
• 5:30 p.m.: Special guest arrives & Tree Lighting Ceremony
• 6 p.m.: Santa picture station opens
• 7 p.m.: Event ends
• Who is allowed to attend this event?
All DoD and host nation ID cardholders of all ages are allowed. All personnel will still be required to show proper identification to access the base. Base access rules apply.
• Is there an age limit?
Fun for all ages. Parent supervision of children is required.
• Is there food at this event?
Yes. Local food trucks will be present for food sales. Please note that local food trucks may only accept payment in cash and yen currency only. Please plan accordingly.
• Can I attended both location events?
Yes. As long as you have base access, there is no restriction on attendance.
• Will facilities be closed?
There may be restricted hours due to this event. Please check with the facility in question for more information.
• Will Santa be available for pictures?
Yes, on a first-come, first-served basis.

• My command/organization would like to volunteer for this event, where do we sign up as volunteers?
Email us at MWR_Yokosuka_Special_Events@us.navy.mil. Please provide your command/organization information, event day POC information and how many people plan to volunteer. Letters of appreciation will be provide after the event. Volunteers are also accepted on the day. Visit the MWR info booth on event day for more information.
• Registration:
No registration required for DOD ID cardholders. All personnel will still be required to show proper identification to access the base. Base access rules apply.
• Admission Fee:
Entry to venue is free. Market purchases are not associated with MWR.
• This event is open to:
All DoD and host nation ID cardholders of all ages. All personnel will still be required to show proper identification to access the base. Base access rules apply.
• Sponsorship for base entry:
Large scale event sponsorship will not be available for this event. Patrons are able to sponsor guests on to the base through normal Security procedures. Please contact the pass office more information about base sponsorship protocols.
• Parking:
Only DoD ID cardholders will be authorized to drive and park on base. DoD ID cardholders will be able to park in designated parking areas on base. All guests will not be authorized to drive and park on base.
• Pets:
While we love animals, pets are not allowed at this event, except for designated service animals. Please leave your furry friends at home.
• Smoking:
No Smoking permitted at this event. Please smoke outside event area.
• Dress Code:
There is no dress code for the general event. However, this is an outdoor event, please dress according to weather conditions.
• Restrooms:
Restrooms will be available throughout the area at surrounding facilities.
• Lost Child/Parent:
Please meet at the info tent (blue tent), security and MWR staff will be notified for retrieval.
• Contraband:
I. No items may be left unattended at any time.
II. Personnel who do not wish to have their baggage checked will be turned away. This includes persons carrying large bags, backpacks, etc.
III. No sealed bags or articles unable to be opened will be allowed onto the installation.
IV. Should any guests be found to have in their possession knives, razors, or other small, yet inherently dangerous instruments, they will be turned over to Japanese police for adjudication.
V. Glass bottles are not authorized. Any containers which are not sealed will be discarded with the exception of baby formula which will be inspected to ensure the contents are not harmful.
VI. Spray paint is not authorized.
VII. All other contraband will be brought to the attention of Japanese Police.
VIII. Distribution of commercial flyers or display of banners will require immediate notification to the SECO/ASECO/CPOIC. The flyers and/or banners will be confiscated and the offender will be identified and released to Japanese Police for removal.
IX. No form of electronic/radiological monitoring equipment.
X. Bicycles, roller blades, and skateboards are prohibited for all festival attendees – guests and DoD ID cardholders.
